OUR PROGRAMMES
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
Improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services to promote healthier, safer, and more dignified lives for older persons and their communities.
Clean Water and Better Hygiene for Healthier Communities
Every older person deserves to live free from discrimination, abuse, neglect, and social exclusion. Support Elderly Foundation is committed to promoting the rights and dignity of older persons by empowering communities, raising awareness, and advocating for policies and practices that ensure older persons are respected, protected, and actively included in society.
Programme Overview
The Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) Programme improves access to clean and safe water, promotes proper sanitation practices, and encourages good hygiene behaviors among older persons and their communities. Through community-based interventions, infrastructure support, hygiene education, and partnerships, we help reduce waterborne diseases and improve overall health outcomes.
Our programme also supports the construction and rehabilitation of water sources and sanitation facilities while empowering communities with knowledge to maintain healthier environments.
Why This Programme Matters
Older persons are particularly vulnerable to illnesses caused by unsafe drinking water, poor sanitation, and inadequate hygiene. Long distances to water sources and inaccessible sanitation facilities further increase health risks and reduce quality of life.
This programme ensures that older persons have improved access to safe water, better sanitation, and hygiene education that promotes healthier living and greater independence.
